It is with profound sadness that we inform you our colleague and friend Victor V. Butsky passed away on April 24, 2025.
Victor was a founding partner of Deeth Williams Wall, joining Amy-Lynne Williams, Gervas Wall, Marijo Coates, Mike Erdle, and Doug Deeth, to start an IP and IT law firm that did things differently.
Victor was an outstanding intellectual property litigator, a registered patent and trademark agent, and a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. He was well respected and liked by colleagues across the bar. His clients and everyone who worked with him valued and admired his excellence, integrity and utmost professionalism in everything that he did. Above all, his kindness, willingness to make time for others and strength of character set him apart as an exceptional individual.
His contributions to our firm as a lawyer, teacher, mentor, advisor and leader were numerous and long-lasting. He will be thoroughly missed by all of us.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones as together we mourn his passing.
